Dear Parents and Students,
“People-oriented” Life of MWS
From 1st February, our school resumed full-time face-to-face classes.
Mui Wo School has always been “people-oriented”. The physical and mental needs of our students, as well as parents is an important consideration as we adapt to full time classes. When organising our school programmes, we made a conscious decision to provide a full-day class timetable and added tutorial lessons before the school day started. During tutorial lessons, students can complete most of their assignments at school. They can also consult their subject teachers when encountering learning difficulties. By doing this, we aim to reduce the academic pressure of both students and parents, and help them better arrange their time for other extracurricular activities.
Students should progress and grow in a nurturing environment. The return to full-day face-to-face schooling allows us to optimise the campus environment and facilities for students to have active and healthy learning. We are fortunate to have many modern facilities at the school. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive electronic whiteboard or a smart blackboard to increase students’ participation and promote more effective interaction. A new bouldering wall has been erected in the playground and students can now increase their physical fitness and muscle development by learning basic rock-climbing skills during physical education lessons. We are also very pleased to advise that a brand-new water dispenser with a disinfection system has been installed, so our students can fill their water bottles safely.
We cherish every student’s independence and development. Each and every student has different talents and abilities. As the school’s front-line educators, our teachers and staff will continue to work together to maintain a happy campus, where everybody is cared for and respects others. Through our diverse and comprehensive curriculum, students can acquire solid knowledge. They can develop their potential through a variety of exciting extracurricular activities. With the enhancement of their generic skills and multiple intelligences, our pupils can thrive in development of morality, intelligence, physique, social skills and aesthetics.
We have always been committed to promoting positive education and reading. In addition to our reward program (Cow Cow Rangers Passbook) enhancing students’ psychological progress, we also actively promote e-reading. We believe students should keep abreast of modern developments and make good use of the benefits brought by information technology. This should lay lifelong-learning foundations for them to face the challenges of the 21st century while at the same time contributing to the society.
We hope that our beloved students will take a full advantage of our new campus and enjoy the fun brought by MWS life under the ample but flexible full-day face-to-face classes.
With Love,
Principal Kwok Man Lai Eve
